4 Immunity Boosters I Take Regularly

With everything going on in the world, my health and boosting my immunity has been top of mind. I may be over doing it, but find myself being almost too cautious these days. Can you blame me?

First and foremost, a healthy lifestyle - getting enough sleep, moving your body, hydrating - and eating whole, nourishing foods is a sure way to boost your immune system. Some days are better than others, so on top of that and quite frankly for my peace of mind, I take these 4 supplements for additional support:

  • Vive Organics Immunity Boost Shot: This shot is a power-packed blend of roots, fruits and flowers is the ultimate immune system strengthener. I love the ginger and turmeric taste and always get at least one shot when I do my grocery shopping.

  • Vitamin D: Vitamin D is crucial because it helps regulate your immune system, aids in calcium absorption, and may play a role in mood regulation. Vitamin D3, also known as cholecalciferol, is the best supplemental form because it has been shown to be the most effective in raising and maintaining vitamin D blood levels. Vitamin K2 works with Vitamin D3 to move calcium into your bones and prevent it from forming deposits in your blood vessels. This brand was recommended by my Parsley Health health coach.

  • Probiotics: I take probiotics for digestive health every morning as part of my routine. This probiotic has 50 billion CFU and 16 probiotics for immune system health and I have been taking it for years. I’ve also started exploring Sakara’s probiotic and am loving it! Use XOCOURTNEYD for a discount!

  • Zinc: MegaFood Zinc offers the daily support you need along with a nourishing food blend featuring organic spinach and broccoli.

The Institute of Integrative Nutrition (IIN) also notes that Vitamin C and E may help support immunity. See below for more about these vitamins and a few food sources discussed in my classes!

Vitamin E

Vitamin E functions as an antioxidant in the body. As an antioxidant, it helps support healthy aging and immunity. Vitamin E may also help reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease.

Food sources: sunflower seeds, almonds, wheat germ, vegetable oils, peanuts, spinach, avocado

Vitamin C

Vitamin C acts as a powerful antioxidant in the body. In addition to reducing oxidation and supporting immunity, vitamin C is known to help boost the absorption of iron from plant sources.

Food sources: citrus fruits, red pepper, kiwi, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, potatoes, cranberries, strawberries, cauliflower

Talk to your doctor if you have any questions about what supplements may be right for you. Stay safe and healthy, friends! xx
