Off-Season Montauk Must-Do List

I’ve been trying to get out to Montauk all summer long and it just was not in the cards. Feeling my sadness for a summer come and gone, my boyfriend recommended we go out the weekend after Labor Day and we could stay at his aunt’s house. Let me be real with you, I was just being a grouch – “ugh, but no one will be around, and I love the summer energy out there.”

I was pleasantly proven wrong (I hope to never say that again 😊). We got our run of the mill, with no lines and gorgeous weather (despite one rainy day that we spent in pure relaxation in the Montauk Salt Cave.) So, if you’re still itching to get out to The End of The World – you have plenty of time to do it! I hope to go out there more!

Here are some of my recos – let me know if you try and of them!

Food:

  • Naturally Good – Cute grab and go spot for breakfast and lunch with organic options. They have healthy grocery items and outdoor seating in a garden area.

  • The Montauk Bake Shop – quick spot for baked goods (as you might gather), coffee and some breakfast items

  • The Crow’s Nest – My absolute fave spot for dinner. Love the décor and vibes and the food was out of this world. Highly recommend and hoping to go back soon.

  • Scarpetta Beach – Restaurant in Gurney’s with delicious apps and pastas. I have not eaten pasta in so long and I did not resist the urge (was worth it). The restaurant is also super cute inside and out with great views of the beach.

  • Duryea’s Lobster Deck – I can’t say omg enough. OMG. You’re eating right on the water, with gorgeous views and delicious seafood. Oyster’s were drool worthy and the lobster salad was consumed in minutes. I think it would still be beautiful in the fall, so you must-go.

Coffee:

  • Blue Stone Lane – super cute surf vibes and delicious coffee. I love the cappuccinos and perusing the clothes.

  • The Left Hand – super chill coffee spot – the red eye with oat milk, I’d go with that 😉

Shops/Other:

  • Montauk Salt Cave - it’s a MUST do. There are some serious benefits and I felt so relaxed. I’m going to do a post on this, so more to come!

  • Wyld Blue –   I mean it’s adorable in there, I’m sucked into it every time I pass. Cute clothes, jewelry and more.

  • FP movement – clean beauty brands, and athleisure clothing. Check it out!

  • The Light House – now you can walk up the light house with less lines! It’s a staple and great views at the top.

  • Head to the beach and chill and watch the surfers – gnarly waves this time of year and fun to watch the surfer bros with a warm cappuccino. Someone teach me how to surf please!

The End (see what I did there?)
