It took a long time for me to prioritize myself and my health.
WORK: I put my job on a pedestal and prided myself on working myself into the ground. My 10+ hour workday was worn as a badge of honor externally, despite feeling physically and emotionally drained regularly.
RELATIONSHIPS: When it came to colleagues, loved ones and friends, I also wore a people pleaser hat. I didn’t know how to say no, or set boundaries, I buried emotions as to not burden anyone one else and always wore a smile on my face to keep the peace.
I accepted that being stressed and tired all the time came with the territory and the slew of other ailments that came with being completely burnt out – gut issues, anxiety, and hormone imbalances, just to name a few. It’s only now that I realize it was all connected.
It was only after a few family members had gotten sick that I realized how much I wanted to help my family and help myself. That's when I joined IIN's foundational health coaching program and where I learned so much invaluable information about putting myself and health first - and that health is more than just what is on your plate.
By reconnecting with myself, I realized I wanted to do work that lit me up. I ultimately quit my job, went started doing healthcare PR in a freelance capacity and knew I wanted to become a health coach. I got a taste of hormone health in the foundational course, but I needed more, so I took IIN's hormone health course.
From adrenal fatigue and high blood sugar to fertility concerns and thyroid disorders, hormone imbalances are at the root of many underlying issues. I learned how to help you restore balance by making holistic shifts to your diet and lifestyle.
That plus my personal experiences of balancing my own hormones, reading books on how to look inward and speak up, daily journaling and going to therapy taught me how to ditch people pleasing and now it’s time for me to help YOU.
