Working Out: How to Make It Work
I’m way too tired. I’m busy. I don’t feel like it. Sound familiar? Tips to get moving, even when you have every excuse not to.
I TRY to workout 3-4 times a week, but believe me, there are days where I am zonked after work. Including my commute, I am working about 12-hour days, and it’s hard – I feel you, you feel me? So what do we do?
· Let’s get real for a second, sometimes I do squats in the bathroom at work. Like 10-12 reps, every time I go to the bathroom. if I know It’s going to be a long day, I’ve had an F ton of water – I’m in there a lot – I may as well take a few minutes and get lowww. Do it – some calf raises walk in place, w/e it takes, just move a little.
· Go for a walk – get outside, grab lunch, get your steps in and get away from your desk. It’ll add up and hey – it’s something!
· Do something you know you’ll actually DO. I don’t love the gym, it’s not what gets me excited. Sometimes, I’ll dance – yep, in my house, before I do some core and legs. Love some good tunes, gets me amped up, and once I start dancing I’m motivated to do some other things. Judge me all you want 😊Also, I LOVE SoulCycle. Ugh, I’d go every day if it wasn’t so expensive. I try to go a few times though. The lights, the jams, the people – it. Is. Everything. I also just tried rumble boxing for the first time, and I need to punch a bag again real soon. Do something that you enjoy, that is the best advice I can give you!
